About the Author
Joan Diehl is a former editor of the Madison County Record, a weekly newspaper now called the Madison Record. Born in Topeka, Kansas, she is a graduate of Washburn University. She is the author of a memoir, Once Upon a War: The Diary of a Waiting Wife, as well as four children’s books. Joan passed away in 2020, and is survived by her husband Glenn
