Gary Wayne Foster has spent a number of years living abroad. A graduate of University of California at Davis, and holding graduate degrees from University of Alaska and The George Washington University, he is the author of Phantom in the River: The Flight of Linfield Two Zero One, about the 1967 downing of an F-4 Phantom near the Ham Rong Bridge in Vietnam and capture of the aircrew, and The President’s Sandbox, an account of President Lyndon Johnson and the events surrounding the siege of Khe Sanh during the Vietnam War.
